by Brandi Martindale Illustrations by Ray Braun Last Week: When they got home a miracle happened...... Healed! .... to Nikki. Her liver and spleen were back in place. Her ears stopped oozing and her diarrhea stopped. God had healed her! Nikki was adopted by the Rideouts and became the first child for Aviss orphanage. No Where Like Home Avis and Roy found a big house in Chaing Mai and began praying for another miracle. They prayed for this house to be their orphanage. But again there was a problem. Foreigners werent allowed to have orphanages in Thailand. God would have to make a way. They prayed hard. Then Avis talked to the right people and they were allowed to have an orphanage. Agape Home started. A Place for the Children Avis went back to the orphanage where she got Nikki and asked to have all the children that were sick with AIDS. Avis took them to Agape Home. Not all of the kids diseases go away, but sometimes they do. Avis knows that God gives all the workers at Agape Home the strength to give the children love and attention. Because of this a lot of kids are healed and then adopted. Wishes Come True The children at Agape Home are always told about Jesus and how they will someday be with Him in Heaven. When Avis and Roy realize that a child is dying they continue to pray for them and do what they can to give these kids whatever they want. If a child wants a can of coke every day they get it. If they want ten cans of coke they get it, says Avis. One 10-year-old boy drank red Fanta until it seemed hed be red inside and out. And when he died, we put cans of Fanta around the bed he was in. Agape Home is a happy place. A girl came in once who looked really really sick............... Now that you've read the third chapter -- take our Missions Quiz to see how well you remember it.
