Have you ever stopped to wonder if the Almighty God of the universe has ever stopped to think about you? I’m sure there’s a good chance that you have, and if you’re anything like me, you have probably also wondered, “Okay, if He does, then what does He think about me?” Maybe a series of questions have roamed the corridors of your mind as you’ve inwardly asked if God is pleased, or frustrated

with you. If He is just one more step away from really punishing you good, or if He wants to scoop you up in His arms and hold you like a loving daddy.

Many times, our view of God becomes a reflection of how people in our lives have treated us. Whether it is our parents, leaders, or people around us in general, we tend to link feelings of rejection, hurt, and distrust that those relationships have brought into our lives, to what God thinks or feels about us as well. For example, in this life, our earthly fathers have failed us. Some of them to a greater degree than others, but even if they loved us, sometimes they have been too busy to notice what was important to us, or haven’t listened to our feelings. In some cases, earthly fathers have been totally absent in our lives, or caused physical or emotional abuse. Either way, the end result is that the truth of who God is, and how he feels about us and responds to us, His children, can become distorted, making it difficult for us to see God as a loving, accepting Father.

In the book “The Father Heart of God”, Floyd McClung Jr. writes about how we can overcome some of life’s most painful disappointments, win over insecurity, restore broken relationships, and defeat pride through discovering the healing power of God’s love. When we learn the true nature of God’s character, we can start walking out who God created us to be. Join with me as I am taking in the wisdom and truth that God is speaking through Floyd’s in his book. I know that I definitely have a need for adjusting my view of God, in light of life’s uncertainty. I am trusting and believing that God will change us both if we reach out for Him, and be open to His work in our hearts. Let’s stand on this verse together…

Jeremiah 29:13 “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all of your heart.”
